Morning!
Should have probably blogged this a few days ago but I’ve been busy / coming back to planet earth.
Friday night was Doctors Orders at Herbal with Mystro and myself. We tore it up!
The idea was to leave straight after my slot but I couldn’t miss Mystro and didn’t end up getting home till 3am.
Packed my stuff for the Big Chill festival and went to sleep…
Set my alarm for 7am but slept through it. Woke up when my dog knocked something off the side.
Instantly called a cab and when asked what time I wanted it for, I replied “7.45″.
Cab person responds “It’s already 8.15″.
I reply “Shit”.
Had the speediest cold shower and just about got ready by the time the cab got to my door. Forgot my RayBans, fail.
After a not so long drive from Rufus’ to the Cotswolds we arrived at the big chill and what ensued was one of the best weekends I’ve had all year.
Toby gets major points. He hadn’t been to sleep when we arrived and he saw it all the way through until 3am Sunday morning when we retired for a less than comfortable kip in the tent.
I got to see both Lamb and Bonobo live… They were two of the best performances I’ve seen to date! I enjoyed both thoroughly. The sun setting behind the main stage while Lamb were performing Gorechi was prettttty special. I so have a milf crush on Lou Rhodes. She’s amazing.
Bonobo performed with a 12 piece band. I really wasn’t sure it would be possible to recreate his music without losing something, but nothing was lost. It sounded incredible. The drummer had the swagger of a don.
I then discovered a new drink, Sailor Jerry’s, ginger and lime. Deep. This is now my new juice me up juice.
Caught too many jokes… Rufus coughing uncontrollably walking around saying he’d developed TB, Toby ’smiling inside’ after inhaling the contents of balloons… me dancing through the mud as if my Nike’s were ever going to survive… Good times.
Great times.
Check out some of the pics here:

Rufus:

Didn’t really need to see things like this at this part of the evening already intoxicated:

Dark times for Rufus, although he was apparently having the time of his life?:
